Lindsay's Farnham Art School Saturday sessions mentioning artistic ability were squashed at an early age by worried parents and disregarded by life choices until breaking out again as an adult in the 90’s when time allowed for participation in a pre-degree foundation course in Art and Design. Since then Lindsay discovered Watercolour and became hooked, spending the intervening years concentrating on obscuring reality with atmospheric impressions, techniques and humour to enhance this exciting, unpredictable medium. Now a respected Watercolour Artist her work is exhibited in various exhibitions throughout Surrey, Hampshire and London and she undertakes many watercolor commissions.
“My work unashamedly has a strong impressionistic resemblance to the subject but I like to leave some chance for the viewer to insinuate their own thoughts, feelings and conclusion.
Inspiration is drawn from anything and everything, landscapes, buildings, people, animals, flowers — there will be something glimpsed that just catches my eye and makes me want to paint it for pure pleasure.
My theme is to improve on reality. If it makes a picture in my mind - I want to enhance it on paper”
